You’ll find several types of parenting, termed as “Christian parenting programs” that have seemed to end up in somewhat of a large debate. Some folks really associate the entire concept of Christian parenting with baby abuse and care that does not have a child’s best interest at heart. This is something that I would like to get your thoughts an opinions on…

In does seems that some people may not have the entire story straight based on what I have found so far, and spreading untruths without facts to back things up is something that I’m not into. So what is the real deal about Christian parenting programs anyway.

Hear is the scoop that I have gotten so far. It involves, at some level, discipline of your child and may come to spanking if needed. Now not all Christian parenting programs go here, but this is what the critics point out and make the huge deal about. I’m not here to say right or wrong (although I do have my own opinion on the matter). I want to hear what you have to say and give me your insight so we all may benefit. Deal? – Good.

Spanking - the rumor is that all Christian parenting encourages spanking, yet this is certainly incredibly inaccurate info. In a globe where everyone in conscious of abuse and toddler neglect, many people are reluctant to apply physical punishment to their child. While years ago spanking a child was deemed as suitable punishment and was accepted widely, these days it is looked at in a virtual fear.

Abuse, or even an accusation of abuse, currently can take a toddler out of his or her home and away from their parents. You will discover two distinct views on spanking a little one with any parent, including a Christian programs father and mother, from what I have read. You will see people who think that this procedure is effective, and isn’t abusing the baby. Then you’ll find those who feel that spanking their youngsters will lead to abuse later, and that they could get their baby taken away from them.

Growing Children God’s Way

I found some information on this Christian parenting program and put it down hear to see what you think. This process was originally accepted but swiftly sprouted controversy. You will find 3 main parts of this kind of parenting. The 3 are infant feeding, first time obedience, and servant hood.

Infant feeding stage – A technique which is supposed to show the child that he or she isn’t the center from the globe. At first glance this seems like it is the total opposite of most programs or techniques I’ve seen. Do you think this is a good idea, or is this putting the child at a disadvantage?

Servant hood stage – . Servant hood is taught by modeling that the relationship between Mom and Dad takes priority over the children in all circumstances, and that Dad is the head of the household. Dinner is served to Dad first, and his desires most significant. This creates a family hierarchy that places the children at the bottom.

OK, I can’t hold my tongue hear! I’m all for the family hierarchy, but what if Mom makes more money than Dad? What about single parent households? I think structure is great, but assuming that “the man” is always “in charge” is going a little over-board, isn’t it? What do you think?

Obedience stage – This is the part that the little one is to obey the parent the 1st time the parent asks them to do something. If the little one does not obey, then it really is considered sinning, while if a parent asks the child again, the parent would be sinning since it would, it turn, be encouraging the child’s behavior. Wow, this is pretty heavy…

I guess the main thing to remember is that the above Christian Parent Program is only 1 school of thought and all christian parenting programs and parents for that matter don’t necessarily agree with all the methods laid out hear.

I think there are some better ways to deal with our children, But I’d like to hear what things may be working for you. Let us all know in the comments below.

Lets just get it all out in the open… Parenting isn’t easy! Whomever said taking care of a child is easy must be out of their skull, or more than likely, has not experienced being a mother or father whatsoever. Looking after your child and continuously trying to do your best as a parent is really a never ending process and doesn’t stop even when your “baby” decides to move from home, or when they finally turn 18. Despite all the parenting programs, research, doctors, psychologists, step parenting programs, baby programs and every other child behavior specialist you can think of, there isn’t a one size fits all solution to keeping your child on the right track. Talking back, temper tantrums, constant crying and misbehaving in public seems to be the norm these days. But there may be some relief or solutions for some of us, but we still have to remember a few things.

Parenting is distinctive to every family situation and every child sooner or later will be on their own (although I expect the occasional phone call for help, money etc… haha). The bottom line is, all we can do is our best, to shape and mold their childhood experience and teach them what we can to succeed and have opportunities later in life.

Even know there isn’t a one size fits all solution for every child there are a lot of great resources to help us parents deal with some of the situations we may be having. Some of these parenting programs may be able to help deal with the bumpy ride that comes down the way or at least make things a little easier when we simply don’t know what else to do.

Remember, we don’t “own” our children. We’re just here to show them the actual ways of life and try to teach them not to make the mistakes that we have already made in our own lives (I know, sounds good, but will they really listen… I guess the point is that we, as parents, can never give up). I guess the alternative would be to give up, come to a foregone conclusion that our children will never listen. I guess that’s the reason why some people choose not to have children, but this really makes me kinda sad.

You see, as a proud parent I now know the huge amount of happiness and fulfillment I would never have if I wasn’t a parent.

Being a mother or father is one of the hardest and most difficult jobs on the planet. But it is also one of the most rewarding of all.

I have some things that I’m going to share with the world that may make things a little easier with your child. If you have any suggestions on parenting programs, child development programs or baby programs, let me know in the comments section below. I’d like everyone to benefit from each other and this blog. Maybe together we can make our lives a little easier
